About
About Techno Homesteading
Techno Homesteading is a practical systems resource for inventor-homesteaders building resilient, local-first properties.
Techno Homesteading is for people who want more control over the systems that make daily life possible: power, water, food, shelter, connectivity, sensing, and automation.
The focus is grid-lite resilience. Full off-grid living is one path, but most households need something more practical: fewer single points of failure, better visibility into critical systems, local-first controls, manual fallback, and tools that can be understood and repaired.
What We Cover
We publish guides for inventor-homesteaders, technically fluent landowners, rural remote workers, makers, and households using modern tools to build autonomy without adding invisible dependency.
Core topics include solar and battery systems, water storage, well pumps, rural internet, local networks, Home Assistant, LoRa, monitoring, greenhouse control, chicken coop automation, container buildings, hydroponics, composting, and biological loops.
How We Work
Every guide starts with the system, not the gadget. We look for the load, failure mode, maintenance path, manual override, and trade-off before naming equipment.
The goal is not a futuristic homestead. The goal is resilient household infrastructure a real person can operate when weather, outages, animals, mud, distance, and time pressure all show up together.
